Science grows with Interaction. The need for creation of an interactive platform where free ideas take form into future destinies of science lead us to form this NCRM-TPRM Alumni.
It all began when Nichi-In centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM), an Indo-Japan joint venture institute carrying out research, training and clinical applications-protocol development in regenerative medicine signed an MoU with the prestigious University of Toronto for starting this great initiative, making NCRM an off-shore institute for the Training Program in Regenerative Medicine (TPRM)
The Training Program in Regenerative Medicine (TPRM) is affiliated with the University of Toronto, McMaster University and Ottawa University, and consists of a series of 30 lectures in this program webcasted from the University of Toronto to NCRM .The purpose of this initiative is to encourage a trans-disciplinary, integrative approach to health research through the training of a new generation of researchers capable of combining various approaches in devising innovative solutions for the research and treatment of complex medical problems.
Training has been completed for three batches starting from 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 which has seen an array of scholars from varied fields ranging from Researchers in Life sciences, Physicians and Surgeons from Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry.
Dr. Justin William, a scholar of the first batch (2008-09) scored the highest grades in that batch and was chosen as the Teaching assistant for the TPRM the consecutive years.
TPRM created not only trained scholars but gave an opportunity for interaction between these scholars from various educational backgrounds who would have hardly met each other if it had not been for this program. The interaction led to various successful collaborative initiatives between the scholars which has taken shape to successful funded projects of research in Stem cells and Regenerative Medicine. These ongoing projects will lead to accomplishments which might be occupying the encyclopaedias of science in the future
This experience made us realise further that if an yearly congregation was organized between these scholars , it could further revamp hidden ideas and contribute to the future of science and here we are,
