Dr. Hiroshi Terunuma,
Biotherapy Institute of Japan, Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Hiroshi Terunuma is an esteemed immunologist with a distinguished academic and clinical background. He obtained his MD and PhD from the prestigious Tohoku University School of Medicine, Japan, and further pursued immunology and virology research as a visiting scientist at the renowned Wistar Institute in the USA. He also served as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami. Between 1995 and 1997, Dr. Terunuma was appointed as a long-term expert by the Japan International Cooperation Agency of the Government of Japan, where he was involved in HIV prevention projects. Upon returning to Japan, he joined Yamanashi University as a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology. In 2004, Dr. Terunuma founded the Biotherapy Institute of Japan (BIJ), where he currently serves as Chief Technical Officer. BIJ has two cell processing facilities for clinical applications officially approved by the Government of Japan. Under his leadership, the institute has provided over 80,000 cultured cells for medical treatment at medical institutions. Additionally, since 2004 his clinical journey continued as a Consultant in immunotherapy and regeneration medicine at Kudan Clinic, Tokyo Clinic, and Southern Tohoku General Hospital. Since 2021, he has served as the director of N2 Clinic Yotsuya, where he is engaged in clinical applications of immunotherapy and regenerative medicine using Natural Killer (NK) cells, Dendritic cells (DCs), Mesenchymal Stem cells (MSCs), and stem cell culture supernatant developed at BIJ. Dr. Terunuma continues to develop advanced cell processing products and is making significant contributions to this field by translating his pioneering research into clinical applications.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem,
Director, Vinmec Research Institute of Stem cell and Gene Technology, Vietnam.
Prof. Nguyen Thanh Liem is a pioneer and innovator in pediatric endoscopic surgery and stem cell transplantation. He graduated from Hanoi Medical University in 1976 and completed medical residency program in Surgery at Viet Duc Hospital in 1979. He defended his PhD. thesis in 1991 and was appointed as a Medical Professor in Surgery in 2009. He is internationally recognized inventor by his seven advanced operative techniques in the Pediatric Surgery. Regarding the stem cell studies, Prof. Liem is a pioneer of using stem cell therapy for unmet diseases in children such as cerebral palsy due to oxygen deprivation, due to neonatal icterus, due to intracranial hemorrhage, neurological sequelae after nearly death drowning, Autism, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and liver cirrhosis due to biliary atresia.Throughout his career, he has been in charge of a number of important positions such as Director of Vietnam National Children Hospital from 2002 to 2012; Director of Vinmec International Hospital from 2013-2016; Vice president of Asian Association of Pediatric Surgery; President of Vietnam Association of Pediatric Surgery. Currently, Prof. Liem is the director of Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology. He has published 135 studies on the international journals and over 200 papers on domestic journals. He is the Editor and author of six chapters of the Book titled “Cell Therapy: Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine” which is shortly published by Springer Nature in 2025. He is also the co-author of surgery pediatrics textbooks published in UK and US such as Operative Pediatric Surgery, Ashcraft’s Pediatric Surgery, and Pediatric Laparoscopic and Thoracospoc Surgery. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Liem has been invited to give lectures and performed demonstrative surgeries in many countries including the US, France, Netherlands, Italia, Australia, Japan, India and South Korea. By his dedicated and delightful contributions to the medical practices and research, he has been honored many prestige awards conferred by the Vietnam government like Ho Chi Minh Award, National Labor Hero Medal, Award of Vietnam Talent. In 2018, he has been awarded the 2018 Nikkei Asia Prize in the Science and Technology category thank to his contribution to develop and popularize pediatric endoscopic surgery in Asia and the world. He is categorized in top 100 scientists of Asia by Sigapore journal in 2019.

Dr. Akio Horiguchi,

Dr. Akio Horiguchi is a Consultant Urologist & Reconstructive Surgeon at the National Defense Medical College Hospital, Saitama, Japan. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, in 1994 and completed his residency in general surgery and urology at Keio University Hospital. With specialized expertise in reconstructive urologic surgeries, he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at the National Defense Medical College. His clinical focus is urethral reconstruction, having performed over 1,000 urethroplasties. He has authored more than 100 publications and is a board member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS).

Dr. Suryaprakash Vaddi
Professor of Urology, Kamineni Medical College Hospital, Hyderabad, India.
Dr Surya Prakash, presently working as Professor, department of Urology, Kamineni Medical College Hospital, L B Nagar, Hyderabad is also the Director of Surya Kidney Centre, Chaitanya Puri, Hyderabad. He started his training in urology in Sri Satya Sai Institute, Puttaparthi under Prof H. S. Bhat, who is considered as Father of Indian Urology who inspired Dr Surya Prakash, to work in academic institutes where there are opportunities for teaching and constant learning. Prof H. S. Bhat started the department of Urology at Narayana Medical College, Nellore, where Dr Surya Prakash worked for 10 years as a Professor and Head of the department of urology and was instrumental in starting the MCh Urology postgraduate training program in this institute. He has conducted many training programs and live operative workshops in Narayana Medical College. His passion has always been teaching and research. Jointly worked with NCRM, a Japanese institute in regenerative medicine, he developed a cell-based therapy for urethral stricture called BEES-HAUS therapy. He also has developed a new technique for treating urinary bladder stones named PerBT CLT. Another innovation is Pneumorenum, a technique to facilitate easy dissection during lap nephrectomy in giant hydronephrotic kidney. Dr Surya Prakash had started an online course on research methodology and biostatistics for urology postgraduate students while he served as the Hon. Secretary of the Association of Southern Urologists (ASU). Due to its high popularity, the course was offered again in subsequent years. He also had a key role in the launch of the ASU journal, called JASU (Journal of Association of Southern Urologists). Dr Surya Prakash has been elected as the Chairman-Elect for the Indian School of Urology, a prestigious body under the Urological Society of India. Through the Indian School of Urology, he conducts training programs, mock examinations, and cadaver training programs for urology postgraduates and urology consultants.
