NCRM NICHE 2017 Active Knowledge Gaining (AKG) events Registration

We thank you for your interest in participating as an Active Knowledge Gaining (AKG) Event Delegate. You can register for one or both of the following events.

AKG Event I: Fujio Cup Quiz (FCQ)


a. Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral (PhD) students of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Veterinary Science, Dentistry and Medicine registered in any institute which is recognized/accredited by quality assurance bodies, accreditation bodies and Ministries of Education included in the International Directory of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), from any country that is a member state of the United Nations (UN) are eligible to participate in the Preliminary round I. Any number of teams (comprising of 2 members per team) can participate in the Preliminary round I from each Institute. Among the teams, select number of teams who are top scorers in the prelims from that Institute are only eligible to participate in the consecutive rounds. The finalists of last year (2006 to 2016) FCQs cannot participate, however their institute can be represented by other students.

b. It is mandatory that those Participants who are born between 1st of January 1985 and 31st of December 1997, both days inclusive are only eligible for participating in the FCQ 2017.

    c. The FCQ 2017 will have four rounds of quizzing.

    Preliminary Round I – Online quiz: Open for all Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral (PhD) course, bonafide students of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Veterinary Science, Dentistry and Medicine registered in any institute which is recognized/accredited by quality assurance bodies, accreditation bodies and Ministries of Education included in the International Directory of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), from any country that is a member state of the United Nations (UN). The participants need to register themselves for the FCQ.

    Preliminary Round II – Online Quiz: For Participants selected from Prelims I

    Those who get selected from the I preliminary round to the II preliminary round will be notified by email and they will also receive the Preliminary Test II documents by email. The Preliminary Test II assignments must be completed and sent by email to webmaster@ncrmniche.org within the stipulated time deadline. Kindly check your email regularly to keep yourself updated.

    Pre-Final and Final Rounds:

    24 teams (each team with two members; totally 48 participants) will be selected* based on the performance in their Prelims II will be selected as FCQ Elite teams of the year 2017

    FCQ Elite Ultimate – Top six teams (12 participants) (Teams ranked 1 to 6 in Prelims II) selected for the Onsite Pre-Final Round

    FCQ Elite Superior – Teams reanked 7 - 12 in Prelims II (12 participants) selected for the Onsite Pre-Final Round

    FCQ Elite Bright – Teams ranked 13- 24 in Prelims II (24 participants) selected for the Onsite Pre-Final Round

    • All Students participating in the FCQ Prelims I and II but falling short of becoming FCQ Elites will have benefits in participating as a FCQ Non-elite delegate in the Onsite events of the NCRM NICHE 2017. For event Registration they can register themselves – Instructions will be provided in due course of time. Participation subject to availability of seats.

AKG Event II: Poster/Oral Presentation session

a. Undergraduate, Postgraduate students of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Veterinary Science, Dentistry Medicine, Stem Cell Scientists, Basic Science Researchers, Research Scholars and Clinicians are eligible to participate.

b. All Original works on Basic Sciences, Translational Studies and Clinical studies in the field of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine including the allied fields of Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Immunotherapy and Cell based therapies are eligible for submission as abstracts.

Any registrant or member of any team participating in the FCQ and/or Poster Session can avail only one of the waivers described above. More than one waiver cannot be availed in combination.

AKG Events Participants selected for the Onsite Events (FCQ Elites and selected Poster Presenters) along with serving as an Event Delegate for the NCRM NICHE 2017 event on the 22nd October 2017 will also be eligible for the AKG Delegates Exclusive Programme on the second day 23rd October 2017 for visit to the Tokyo Women's Medical University - Waseda University Joint Institution for Advanced Biomedical Sciences (TWIns) and to Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) along with an Interactive Session with Engineering Students working on Healthcare Applications - NCRM NICHE Inter-Disciplinary Conclave (IDC).

A valid Passport and other relevant documents are essential for delegates/selected participants for travel to Japan for the pre-final and final rounds of the Fujio Cup Quiz (FCQ)/Poster Presentation/Event Participation in NCRM NICHE 2017. For further information on such requirements, the delegates can contact/refer either the website or the concerned source of information of the Embassy/Mission of Japan in their local territory.
